The New York Jets capped of their road schedule on Sunday afternoon December 29th with a hideous loss in Western New York to the Buffalo Bills. The Jets trailed this game 40-0 in the fourth quarter and were beaten by a final score of 40-14. The loss drops their record to 4-12.
Aaron Rodgers completed 12 of 18 passes for 112 yards no touchdowns and two interceptions. Backup Tyrod Taylor replaced Rodgers in the fourth quarter and completed 11 of 14 passes for 83 yards and two touchdowns. Rodgers came into the game needing one more touchdown for the 500th of his career. He will now look to achieve that before their final regular season game this Sunday, January 5th against division rival Miami Dolphins. “Obviously I’m more than excited for him to be so close to that and get it, and obviously we want to go out there and get that next week,” Jets receiver Davante Adams said. Adams has been teammates with Rodgers for years dating back to their time together in Green Bay. “But that’s not a thought in our head when we are on the field.”
Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen threw for 182 yards, two touchdowns, and ran for a score. Allen, in the running for league MVP, will start against New England but will only take one snap in order to keep his consecutive starting streak going. It will be his 115th straight start.
