After losses to the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns at home last month, the Brooklyn Nets came out focused against the Chicago Bulls last night. Another top team aiming to get a win at Barclays Center and the Nets led 9-0 to start and led for most of the first three quarters of the game, briefly trailing by a point.

But then, DeMar DeRozan scored 13 of his 29 in the fourth quarter and Lonzo Ball hit a dagger three to essentially end the game as Chicago defeated Brooklyn 111-107.

Brooklyn’s James Harden, who tallied 14 assists but shot an awful 5-21 from the field, took responsibility for the loss after the game.“Blame this on me,” Harden said. “When there’s opportunities for me to go finish, I went. I just didn’t convert at a high level that I needed to, but I feel like me just putting the pressure on that rim throughout the course of the game was good, tonight it just didn’t…my paint finishes wasn’t at a high level. I feel like that was the reason for the loss.”

Durant was asked what the team can do better to win the games against the NBA’s top teams. “We just got to go out there and play with some force and confidence like we want to win,” Durant stated, “Understand it’s a long game and just stick with the game plan,” before saying that it was a bad and tough loss.

Brooklyn has the opportunity to get back into the win column in Dallas against the Mavericks Tuesday.
