Brian Kemp, a secretary of state backed by Trump, has run his campaign with promises to “round up criminal illegals” in his pickup truck. Kemp will now run against Stacey Abrams in Georgia’s governor’s race. His current strategy is painting Abrams as a radical leftist, and a threat to Georgia values.
Abrams has run an energetic campaign, pledging to improve education, fight for better gun control, abortion rights, and removing confederate monuments from state property, among other things. She is in the running to become Georgia’s first black woman elected governor. Kemp may continue to paint her as a threat, but it will be hard to take seriously from a man who ran a campaign featuring guns, chainsaws, and a pickup trick to round up “criminal illegals”.
