Racism remains strong in words and deeds. Proof of this was the vandalization of a billboard in Louisville, Ky., Asking for justice for Breonna Taylor.
That fact, reported Tuesday morning, when the billboard – located near the Lexington Road and Spring Street area – appeared with a splash of red paint on Taylor’s forehead, looking like a gunshot wound.
The billboard, which was courtesy of Oprah Winfrey, is one of 26 that were erected around the town where Taylor lived and was killed earlier this month.
Each of the 26 billboards was required “that the police involved in Breonna Taylor’s death be arrested and charged.” They meant to represent all of Taylor’s years of life. They correspond to the magazine’s September cover design Winfrey’s O, which marked the first time in the publication’s history that someone other than Winfrey appeared alone.
Fortunately, the billboard was restored on Tuesday afternoon, according to ABC Action News.
However, the case is intriguing because access to the mural was very difficult, which means that there was clearly a lot of effort by white supremacists to scale it, disfigure it, and vandalize it. An outrageous act of racism.
