BRAG, a New York-based nonprofit that promotes the advancement of people of color in leadership roles within retail, fashion, and related industries, recently hosted its 49th Annual BRAG Scholarship & Awards Gala at the plush Edison Ballroom in NYC.

BRAG Co-President Nicole Cokley Dunlap, Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion Strategy, Macy’s Inc., and Co-President & Executive Vice President & Chief Diversity Officer, Macy’s Inc. Shawn R. Outler, welcomed the crème de la crème of the fashion community to this year’s glam gala themed Culture Curators which honored Fashion Innovator and GUCCI Influencer Dapper Dan; Founder and BRAG Alumnus Melissa Mash, CEO & Co-Founder of Dagne Dover; Diplomacy Worldwide Creative Director Eric Archibald; and Bond Creative Search Founder Leonardo Lawson.

The gala was hosted by ABC News Correspondent and Emmy Award-winning television personality Linsey Davis and included live music & dancing to Honey & Vinyl, exquisite dining and a live auction. Presenters included Marvet Britto, CEO/President, The Britto Agency, PMM Agency CEO Kimberly Blackwell, Pooja Radia, and J’Nara Corbin.

Over the course of 49 years, BRAG has awarded $1 million in scholarship funds to minority students, also assisting with internship and college programs to prepare the future leaders of tomorrow. This year’s event continued BRAG’s legacy awarding 10 scholarships to students of color for executive leadership in retail, fashion and related industries.

This year’s scholarship recipients are: Jasmine Bacchus, Tyshaia Earnest, Lauren Eley, Dillan Haynes, Aniya Jackson, Laurence Mobio, LaShae Peterkin, Charnelle Thompson, Christopher Williamson and Savannah Winstead.
