The Phoenix Suns have been one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA this season and they continued this past Sunday night with a 112-98 loss to the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Phoenix now stands at 35-43 and two and a half games out of the Western Conference’s final play-in playoff spot with four games remaining. Kevin Durant who spurned the Knicks to play for the Brooklyn Nets a few years ago missed the game for Phoenix with an ankle injury.
Devin Booker however scored a game high 40 points in the loss and after the game the perennial All-Star guard made it very clear that he enjoys playing at Madison Square Garden. “I’ve said from the beginning that this is my favorite place to play outside of Phoenix,” Booker said after setting his personal Garden scoring mark as well as setting the franchise mark for most points scored at the Garden. “I feel it every time I touch in the city. In the summer driving past, I think about it. I just want to take advantage and respect the game, and the history that has been through here.” Sounds like Booker wouldn’t mind playing there one day.
The Suns host the Golden State Warriors with Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler lll. The Warriors have a record of 20-5 since the team traded for Butler.
