PUNTA GORDA, Fla. — What started with eggs and condiments splattered across a car escalated into something far more dangerous when a young woman allegedly rammed her ex-boyfriend with a Range Rover in a fit of jealousy. Yoshabelle Edouard, 19, was charged with aggravated battery after the incident, which left her ex, Kervens S. Saintil, 20, with multiple injuries. The confrontation unfolded on January 31 at an apartment complex in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Saintil told police and local news outlets that he had been walking near his apartment with his new girlfriend and friends when Edouard appeared in her white SUV. “She was flying through the speedbumps,” Saintil recounted. He said he didn’t have time to react before the vehicle struck him, launching him onto the hood and shattering the windshield before he hit the pavement. “My body literally flew in the air,” he said in disbelief.
Hours before the crash, Saintil had found his car vandalized with eggs, mustard, and ketchup. Police documents describe Edouard as enraged after overhearing Saintil and his new girlfriend discussing her earlier that day. The couple had reportedly maintained an on-again, off-again relationship. Edouard admitted to detectives that she had confronted the other woman on the phone before the incident but denied intentionally hitting Saintil, instead claiming he had jumped onto her vehicle.
Online reactions to the bizarre incident ranged from disbelief to humor. “Must be nice to afford a Range Rover at 19 andwaste eggs like that,” quipped one commenter on “Law & Crime.” Another noted the rising cost of eggs, joking, “That’s a serious flex—eggs are expensive.” Meanwhile, Saintil, while recovering, reflected on the bizarre nature of the attack: “To get hit by a car, and it’s a Range Rover? Not no sedan, a Range Rover,” he emphasized.
Edouard has since been released on $20,000 bail, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. Her next court appearance is scheduled for March 10, where she will face charges that could lead to serious legal consequences if convicted.
