Super Bowl 59 is set as both the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs punched their ticket to New Orleans where they will face each other Sunday, February 9th.

The Eagles captured the NFC Championship by routing the Washington Commanders 55-23 as back Saquon Barkley continued to show why he is the best running back in the league. Barkley didn’t waste any time as he ran for a 60-yard touchdown the first time he touched the ball. He finished his day gaining 118 yards and 2 more touchdowns. Quarterback Jalen Hurts (20, 28, 246 yards and 1 passing touchdown) showed no ill effects from an injured knee as he ran for 3 touchdowns. After an impressive first drive, the Commanders offense stalled under rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels who finished completing 29 of 28 passes for 255 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception. Washington committed 2 more turnovers leading to their demise.

The Kansas City Chiefs kept their chances of doing something no NFL team has ever done. Win three straight Super Bowls. They took out the Buffalo Bills 32-29 on a day that saw Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes throw for 233 yards and 1 touchdown as he completed 18 of 26 passes. Bills quarterback Josh Allen threw for 227 yards and two touchdowns connecting on 22 of 34 passes. Buffalo failed to convert on 2, 2point attempts in the loss. Allen has faced Mahomes in 4 playoff games only to lose all of them.

Philadelphia will be looking for their first Super Bowl victory since they beat the New England Patriots on 2018. The Eagles will also be looking to avenge their loss to Kansas City in Super Bowl 57 as they lost on a last second field goal 38-35.
