The Knicks lost 124-119 to the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night, marking the second time they’ve lost to Detroit at home in the last five weeks. The Knicks have now lost five of their last seven games. Detroit’s Cade Cunningham led all scorers with 36 points and Malik Beasley added 22 for Detroit including two huge threes with under a minute to go which helped Detroit seal the game.

Jalen Brunson led the Knicks in scoring with 31 points and 11 assists and Mikal Bridges made 6 of 8 three-point shots and made 9 of 13 shots overall for 27 points. We are losing games that I feel like we shouldn’t be losing so we got to figure it out,” Knicks forward Josh Hart said after the game. “We are halfway I think into the season now at this point. There is nothing that we can do about the first half now. Now what we have to do is focus on the second but if we want to be the team that we want to be at the end of the year we have to start correcting these.” The Knicks are now 26-15 on the season.

Detroit had a 20-19 record entering the game and was in the 7th spot in the Eastern Conference. The Pistons beat the Knicks at Madison Square Garden 120-111 December 7th. Going into that game, the Knicks had beat Detroit 16 straight times. In that win, the Pistons led the game from wire to wire.

The Knicks traveled to Philadelphia Wednesday night before returning home to host the Minnesota Timberwolves Friday night.
