*After running his mouth and saying some very despicable things, boxer Ryan Garcia has found himself in the center of a storm following racist remarks made about George Floyd as well as the Black and Muslim communities.
On Friday, Garcia announced he is “headed to rehab” and expressed a commitment to “abolish” the N-word from his vocabulary.
“I sincerely apologize if I hurt and offended anyone,” Garcia said, speaking after spending the Fourth of July holiday with the Sanders family in Miami.
Deion Sanders Jr., a close friend, defended Garcia but did not excuse his actions. “I’m not going to let a moment ruin a lifetime,” Sanders stated through his YouTube channel, Well Off Media. He emphasized that while they won’t abandon Garcia amidst the turmoil, actions are already planned to address his issues. Sanders mentioned that Coach Prime would talk to Garcia in Miami over the weekend to ensure he receives the necessary help, according to Buff’s Beat via Sports Illustrated.
