*In a shocking event that has set social media abuzz, rapper Lil Durk‘s 10-year-old son is accused of shooting his stepfather during a domestic dispute involving his mother. The incident, reportedly captured on security footage and shared by the stepfather, Joshua Pippens, has ignited widespread discussions about the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the child’s access to firearms.
The altercation unfolded in the presence of several witnesses, as per the footage. During the heated exchange between the boy’s mother and stepfather, the young boy allegedly took his stepfather’s gun and fired a shot, hitting Pippens in the stomach.
In the aftermath, Pippens took to Instagram to post the footage, aiming to clear his name and assert that he was not the aggressor in the situation.
“As y’all can see I was not the aggressor and y’all also can see how I still had my gun on my hip he grabbed my gun off my hip following his mom’s lead and tried to shoot me and then actually shot me I advise y’all see it before they take it down #buildawareness,” Pippens captioned the clip. Due to the sensitive nature of the footage, it will not be included in this article.
Despite the severity of the incident, Pippens has made the surprising decision not to press charges against the child. He expressed his love for the boy and emphasized the importance of protecting his rights over his children, a motivation he cited related to his actions following the incident. Pippens has also pointed out that the situation could have been far more tragic had the shot been directed at someone else present during the altercation, including the child’s mother.
Various reports circulating online suggest that the 10-year-old boy may have been attempting to defend his mother during the dispute, though this remains unconfirmed. Lil Durk has not yet made a statement regarding the unsettling incident. Pippens, meanwhile, continues to voice his perspective through his Instagram account. “Whatever makes y’all feel better,” he wrote on his Instagram Story. “That’s why I got custody of my kids and she don’t. It’s still my daughter’s mom, but she knows like I know [prayer emoji]. GOD HAS ALWAYS BEEN GOOD TO ME SURVIVOR.”
