This past, Tuesday night the Brooklyn Nets only had eight players in uniform, the NBA minimum, and pulled off an improbable win over the Toronto Raptors. Thursday, they had nine players in uniform and once again pulled off an improbable win, defeating the Philadelphia 76ers, 114-105.
Brooklyn jumped on the 76ers early and often and the team was up by as many as 20 in the first half. Kevin Durant almost notched a second-straight triple-double in the victory with 34 points,11 rebounds, and 8 assists. Nic Claxton added 17.

After the game, Durant was asked if he felt like he was carrying an extra load with James Harden and six other teammates out with COVID-19. “I don’t think I have to do anything extra, just be myself,” he said. “I love playing, I like being out there, and the challenge of winning is fun to me no matter who’s out on the floor, you want to play to win.”
Second year Nets Head Coach Steve Nash discussed the performance of Durant. “Obviously, Kevin is special,” he said of Durant’s play of late. “He makes a lot of incredible plays. “Kevin led us, but everyone chipped in. The spirit, the resilience was excellent.”
Joel Embiid had 32 points, nine rebounds and six assists in the 76ers’ third straight loss. Seth Curry scored 29 points.
