26-year-old Botham Jean was killed Thursday when Offocer Amber Guyger came into his apartment and shot him, apparently mistaking his apartment for her own. Jean’s family is still seeking answers as to exactly what happened that night.
“The No. 1 answer that I want is, ‘What happened?’ Ive asked too many questions, and I’ve been told that there are no answers yet.” The family’s lawyers questioned why it took three whole days for Guygur to be charged with manslaughter after the incident. A Dallas County District Attorney said that she will present the case to a grand jury, to decide whether a charge stronger than manslaughter is warranted.
