Ben Shapiro has been repeatedly asking Democratic congressional candidate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to debate him, eliciting outrage from conservatives on his behalf as Ocasio-Cortez refuses. Her response to his string of tweets demanding a debate is that she does not owe a response “to unsolicited requests from men with bad intentions.”

Shapiro offered an hour long debate, and 10,000 dollars for charity or for Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign. Obviously Ocasio-Cortez isn’t under any obligation to debate Shapiro, he isn’t running for anything. Charlie Kirk stepped in on Twitter as well, offering 100,000 to any charity if Ocasio-Cortez would debate Shapiro. Her full response to his request is straightforward and powerful as it highlights the underlying intentions of his harassment.

“Just like catcalling, I don’t owe a response to unsolicited requests from men with bad intentions. And also like catcalling, for some reason they feel entitled to one.”
