Rep. Cedric L. Richmond, chair of the Congressional Black Caucus isn’t sure if President Trump cares about the nation’s African- American community.
He emphasized that to a recent televised audience that the President has actually turned his back on the African-American community.
“We are not only looking at the problems in the African-American community, but also suggesting solutions and the President did not read it,” said Congressman Richmond.
“We brought him this book, a 130-page policy document highlighting the problems, but he did not respond to our concerns,” said Richmond
“Because we are not here for a social gathering. We not here to east cheese and drink wine and we are certainly not taking that photo ups, but rather talk policy he did not take us seriously,” Richmond continued.
Instead, President Trump has decided to make the DREAMers illegal. “They were legal until he decided to take action.
But when you started to talk about diversity visa and you start talking about family reunification, you are talking about legal immigration and we could just use his words. He wants more people from Norway as opposed to Africa, El Salvador and Haiti,” said Richmond.
